Despite the hype around AI/ML, many people have a common misconception of its uses and limitations. Although machine learning has many benefits and advantages over other types of artificial intelligence and even human intelligence, it is often misinterpreted for artificial intelligence.

AI or Artificial Intelligence stands for artificial intelligence by definition; something that is created by humans, as opposed to a robot. However, this definition of artificial intelligence is not always followed and is often used to describe computer programs which perform specific tasks which can be performed by humans. A human being cannot program a computer to do anything, let alone think for itself.

The key difference between machine learning and artificial intelligence is that machines cannot learn but humans can. Machine learning is a technology based on the idea that humans are capable of implementing learning algorithms to create intelligent machines.

Although machine learning was first introduced in the 1950’s, it gained huge popularity during the last decade or so when Google and Microsoft made their artificial intelligence software, Deep Blue, beat the human world champion at chess. However, this software was not considered artificial intelligence because it was created by humans and not computers.

Although machine learning is now a very popular technology, it is also extremely difficult to build an artificial system which is able to learn from its experiences. This is because humans can remember their past experiences much more effectively than machines can. In fact, even humans who have been training their minds to learn for many years can perform better than machines can.

The most important differences between AI and machine learning include the type of machine learning model that is used. Machine learning involves using statistical methods and mathematical algorithms to train a machine to use a particular algorithm or model to make predictions about the future.

Artificial intelligence on the other hand, is a method of programming that enables a machine to perform a specific task by itself; such as being able to play a musical instrument without being taught how to read notes, recognize pictures, recognize language or identify objects. This type of AI is often referred to as reinforcement learning.

So although there are a lot of differences between the two, one cannot really say that Artificial Intelligence is superior to Machine Learning. In fact, many experts believe that AI will eventually replace machine learning, as it allows machines to be creative and self-learning.

A very important difference between Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is that the former is only good for certain types of tasks that humans perform. Therefore, if you want your artificial system to become smarter, faster and more efficient, you will need to train it with human-like tasks like playing musical instruments or recognizing pictures and objects.

However, Artificial Intelligence is not capable of learning without human intervention because it does not have the ability to store knowledge and apply it to future problems. Because of this, you can expect that your artificial system will need to be trained from the start and will not be able to retain any new information for long periods of time.

Another difference between artificial intelligence and machine learning is that in the future it will become increasingly difficult for humans to create AI because of the high cost of technology and the fact that it will not be possible to implement artificial intelligence on all computers. Since the initial costs will be prohibitive, scientists are concentrating on using a different type of technology called deep learning.

If you want your future artificially intelligent machine to be as smart as possible, you will need to build it using deep learning. As the name suggests, deep learning is based on using large databases of data so that your artificial system can learn new things every time it encounters a new set of data. However, the only thing that makes this technology impractical for the early stages of machine learning is the fact that it takes a long time to achieve results.

It is clear that the main difference between machine learning and artificial intelligence is not in the technology but in the way the system learns. Therefore, you should try to train your machine in human ways, or learn some basic human skills in order to improve its learning.
